I have spent most of my life earning a living. Perhaps this is, in part, the reason why my encounter with art was so 'late'.

The event that, according to my recollection, acted as a trigger was my meeting with Ale Hesselink, a Dutch painter who lived in Rome and held painting courses inspired by Rudolf Steiner's thought, but interpreted in an unorthodox way (e.g. we used oil instead of watercolour).

It was there that something in me, which I did not even know existed, was released.

I took other courses afterwards in an attempt to refine my language.

I have no schooling behind me and my approach is based on colour and movement, with a crucial need to cultivate and maintain a state of 'innocence' in my approach.

I find inspiration from much of the world's art, with a special love for Impressionism and Abstractionism.

My work as an artist is intermittent, or rather, I need specific (inner and outer) conditions that drive me to choose the canvas, open the colour box and freely choose which colours and tools to use.
